If you've booked either a single trip or annual multi-trip policy with us, you might want to stay away longer or circumstances might require you to change your return date. You might need to extend your travel insurance. It's important to do this before your current policy expires and it is dependent on you having no reason to think you will be making a claim on the policy.
If you have a single trip policy:
All travel insurance uses bands of days. For example, if your trip is 13 days, it fits into our 15 band of cover. So first, check the actual expiry date of your policy on your policy schedule as this will be the last day of the band into which your trip falls. You might find that your new return date still falls within the band of cover your have bought.
If it doesn't, simply log into your client area at www.itssoeasytravelinsurance.com/client. When you have logged in, you'll see a button on the left saying Extend Policy. Click the button and enter the new date you will be home. It's important to put in the date you'll actually be back in your home country because sometimes, this date will be different, depending on your flight time and time zone changes. You will be provided with a quotation, which will be the difference between the price to cover the total of the new band of days minus what you have already paid.
If you have an annual policy:
Our annual policies can cover trips up to a maximum of 31, 45 or 60 days. If your trip needs to be extended over your current maximum number of days, log into your client area at www.itssoeasytravelinsurance.com/client. When you have logged in, you'll see a button on the left saying Upgrade Policy. Click that and then the Get Quote button. You will be given options to upgrade to a higher maximum number of days per trip. Choose which you need and the price will the difference between the policy with the new maximum number of days and what you have already paid.
Important: If you already have an annual policy with a maximum of 60 days per trip, this cannot be extended. You will need to contact us using the contact form on this site and let us know your policy number and your new return date. We will then ask the insurers for the authority to offer you a single trip policy.
If your trip was intended to be longer than the maximum number of days covered by your annual policy, cover will not apply to the entire duration of your trip.
